For the third time in less than five months, the fate of Eric Buzbee, is now in the hands of a jury. During closing arguments Thursday, prosecutors claim Buzbee robbed and killed Spanish Fort businessman Bobby Wilson to support a crack cocaine addiction. Baldwin County Assistant District Attorney Michael Pylant says that, along with the fact Wilson would not cash Buzbee's check the night before the attack, proves motive.

"I've been pleased with the testimony of our witnesses," says Pylant. "I've been pleased with the cooperation of law enforcement. We've gotten all the evidence in some form or fashion that we anticipated getting in, so in that respect, I'd say we're going along well."

But Buzbee's lawyer re-stated to the jury what he's said all along. John Beck says the state's case is entirely circumstantial and told jurors prosecutors did not prove beyond a reasonable doubt his client killed Wilson.

"Everything shows that Eric did not do this," says Beck. "He could not have done this crime, would not have done this crime, there's no evidence at all that links Eric to this crime."

The jury is expected to be deliberations Friday morning. Two previous trials ended in mistrial.
