They're dancing in the street in Fairhope. Well, mostly browsing actually. Tonight's the 7th annual Dancin' in the Street fundraiser. The event raises money for Fairhope schools. Organizers say they hope to raise more than $60,000. Because of numerous budget cuts the money raised this year will go to education fundamentals.
“Usually we do it for enrichment things but in this tough economic time, we're going to give it however the schools need it the most,” says Emily Bell with Page & Palette. The staff of the Fairhope bookstore helped organize the event. The event featured a silent auction, live music and even a mechanical bull. 100% of the money raised goes to Fairhope schools.
