Mobile: 5th in Ugly Guys

The website Totalbeauty.com says Mobile is tied for 5th in the nation with Huntington, West Virginia for ugly guys. But you won't see any ugly guys from Mobile in our story. First, we're sensitive to that kind of thing--second, I did not want to answer a lot of angry phone calls. But do we have our share of ugly guys. It depends on who you ask.

"Yeah, there's a lot of ugly guys around here--my wife will tell you that," says David Scarborough.
"I think our men around here are good looking men, I do--most of them." says Sarita Tanner.

The website's findings say we're ranked 5th because of a high rate of unhealthy, inactive and obese men--and because many apparently have bad teeth. That information comes from another in-depth study by Totalbeauty.com called 'The 14 Worst Teeth Cities.' We ranked 3rd in that one. But some people agree we may have our fair share of ugly guys.

Jason Greene of Jason's Fitness says, "I don't think they're by nature ugly, I think they work hard at it."

By the way Totalbeauty.com also based part of their findings on the paltry lack of gyms here. Greene says "Hold on."\

"It's not the lack of facilities, its the lack of desire to use the facilities," he says. He reminds us besides his gym, there are dozens of others, plus exercise rooms in apartment complexes, churches, business, etc.

So what do folks from other cities think once they've been able to make an assessment of our fair city.
Chelsea Mayer of Baton Rouge says, "Mobile has the ugliest."
Kayleigh Schaffer of Indianapolis said, "It's a possibility."
Tiara Ingram of Mobile says, "Of all the states I've been to, I would agree."
Number one of the list of eight cities with the ugliest guys: El Paso, Texas.
