The community of Tanner Williams is giving a big thank-you to its longtime fire chief. After 30 years of service Rusty Holloway is retiring. He was one of the founding members of the Tanner Williams Volunteer Fire Department. Friends, family and co-workers gathered at the elementary school to celebrate rusty's three decades of service on 10/4/09. The chief says he was overcome with emotion. During a sometimes tearful good-bye the chief said it was time to hang it up. Holloway says he thanks the men and women he’s served with. He says he’ll miss the work he did. Many of the speakers at the event shared stories of how the chief changed their lives. They say he's responsible for building the robust fire department Tanner Williams has today.
