Some people in Mobile had to make a tough decision the day after Thanksgiving: go shopping, or watch the Iron Bowl.
Retailers in Bel-Air Mall had an idea what business would be like during the big game.
When asked if she thought the Alabama-Auburn game would hurt sales during game time, Maya Hodzik with Hourglass said, "I really do believe it has. I think we're seeing the effect now by people really stopping to shop, and they're concentrating on the game, obviously."
Steve McRae with Cedar Point Imports said, "Yeah, about 1:30 it definitely dropped off. You could tell the difference. The crowd is still good, but you could tell he difference when the Alabama game started."
Tosha Buchanan with Lotus Boutique said, "Oh my gosh. Everybody is watching the game. It has been really slow. So, hopefully, during halftime it will pick back up a little bit."
But, shoppers didn't necessarily have to pick between hitting the mall and watching the game.
A large screen television was set up in Bel Air Mall so shoppers could watch the Iron Bowl.
