Carjackings in Mobile are on the rise. There have been 86 this year compared to 69 at this time last year. There were two just Tuesday. One of the crimes ended with a man being shot in his own driveway. For the first time in more than 40 years, Mark Costamire doesn't feel safe in his neighborhood. That's because he was shot during a carjacking Tuesday night at his home. His friend and her 9-year-old grandson were there when it happened, "if I had a chance to tell that guy, you know, my life evidently wasn't worth nothing to you, then, what is your life worth? I mean why do you think your life is worth more than mine, " said Costamire. Prichard Police spotted the stolen car in Costamire's case late Tuesday night. Authorities were able to recover the stolen car, but the suspect got away. Mobile Police say the other carjacking happened at an apartment complex on Springhill Avenue.
