He was 27 years old and had a bright future, but a late night fast food run in Gulf Shores four years ago would be the last time Ron and Vicki Lynn would see their son, Jason, alive. A drunk driver ran a red light and plowed into Jason's car. The young man died at a local hospital.
"We won't ever get to see our son get married, we won't ever get to see our grandchildren and I just plead with the public not to drink and drive," says Vicki.
"I just pray to God nobody has to live through what we have," says Ron.
With the holidays approaching, a time when police respond to more DUI related accidents, the Lynn's hope their tragic story will save someone's life.
"I just ask everyone that's drinking do not get behind the wheel of a car, you don't know whose family member you're going to take away from them, this is something that we're going to have to live with for the rest of our lives," says Vicki.
Police agencies across the Gulf Coast are also doing their part to keep drunk drivers off the streets this holiday season. Beginning this week, agencies will be actively pursuing drunk drivers and will continue to do so through the New Year.
