The Escambia County, Florida Sheriff's Office is looking for an attempted robbery suspect that they say shot a store clerk. Deputies say it happened late Friday night at the Happy 7 food mart on Lillian Highway in Pensacola. The store clerk was taking out the trash when he was approached by a man dressed in a black jacket, pants and red ski mask. Deputies say the man pulled out a gun and told the clerk to go back inside the store.
The clerk was able to get inside ahead of the suspect and lock the door. That is when deputies say the gunman fired shots through the glass door hitting the clerk in the arm. He then took off.
Deputies searched the area, but were unable to find the gunman. The store clerk was transported to a local hospital and is expected to be ok.
