3 Killed In Bank Robbery, Shootout

A blazing gun battle erupts on a suburban Denver street after a man and woman rob a bank and lead police on a high speed chase.

Police shot and killed the two male suspects and wounded the female suspect. She later died at the hospital.

Two officers were injured and taken to the hospital. It's not yet known how severe their injuries are.

The incident started around noon Thursday (11/19) when police say a man and woman armed with pistols robbed First Bank in Westminster, north of Denver.

Officers in an unmarked car first gave chase and the suspects were firing at them. The police vehicle ended up crashing into the back of the suspect's car while performing a pit maneuver.

Police say the woman jumped out of the car and fired at the officers, who returned fire injuring the woman. Other police officers arrived and a barrage of gunfire erupted. The male suspect was killed while still sitting in the getaway car, which was riddled with bullet holes.

As many as 30 rounds may have been fired.

Horrified witnesses watched the shootout at the busy intersection.
