How Many Cases Of Swine Flu At Mobile Jail?

New warden talks about H1N1 and inmate population.

The new warden of Mobile County Metro Jail said he's been able to ease overcrowding at the facility while taking steps to prevent the spread of swine flu.
Trey Oliver gave an update on the jail after a graduation ceremony for new corrections officers Friday.
Twenty new officers joined the Mobile County Sheriff's Office.
They'll be working at a jail that's more than 250 inmates over capacity and sometimes sleep four or five inmates to a cell.
But Oliver said the jail has just been re-accredited through the American Jail Association, and the overcrowding problem has eased.
Oliver said, "Today, we are at about approximately 1460 (inmate population). Of course, we have a capacity of 1200. And, we have a lot of inmates that have been classified over in the minimum security barracks, so that helps alleviate some of the crowding."
And Oliver said despite the large number of inmates, they've only had one case of swine flu.
That inmate recovered and is now out of jail.
Oliver credits hourly cleaning of jail facilities.
