Prichard police are investigating an apparent drive-by shooting that sent a 1-year-old girl and her father to the hospital. Police say it happened around 1 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the corner of St. Stephens Road and Clark Avenue. Prichard police arrived to the scene to find an abandoned Cadillac with apparent bullet holes in the vehicle.

Police say a 28-year-old male and his 19-month-old daughter were shot while exiting the vehicle. According to police, their vehicle had broken down and they were waiting for assistance when they were shot by someone in another vehicle. It is unclear if they were shot by a group or a single person.

Both victims were transported to local hospitals. Their names have not been released. The father received minor injuries and has since been released. The 1-year-old is listed in stable condition at USA Women's and Children's Hospital.

Police say they do not have a motive at this time, but are looking for a grey sedan with tinted windows that may have been in the area. If you have any information regarding this case call Prichard police at (251) 452-2211
