Grove Hill Goes Wet

Grove Hill Goes Wet

Referendum Approved

»  Comments | Post a Comment

People who live in Grove Hill in Clarke County will no longer have to travel to Thomasville or Jackson to buy alcoholic beverages. Tonight, 346 voters in Grove Hill approved the sale of alcohol in the previously dry town. 214 people voted against the sale.
The referendum came about under an act passed by the Alabama Legislature earlier this year allowing municipalities with a population of one-thousand or more people to vote on the issue in dry counties.
