Joshua Curry's manning the door at Spirits in Mobile. The costume shop is crowded with last minute shoppers. Some walls are getting bare and mess gathers on the floor. Event with the recession he says it's been a good season.
“People definitely want to get bargains or deals this year and see what they can do you can tell it a little bit compared to last year but I mean it didn't hurt us too bad,” says Curry. Some shoppers say they're cutting back--some even recycling costumes from last year.
“Halloween costumes are expensive now so, I can't pay that much money I’m in college I don't have any money to spend on it,” says Lauren Miller. The most popular costumes have a common theme. Curry says Bumblebee from the Transformers if popular with boys, while honey bee costumes seem to be popular with girls.
