MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - A survey says home prices in the Mobile
metro area dropped 8.59 percent in March compared with a year ago.
Statewide, the prices were down 6.2 percent.
The survey by California-based First American CoreLogic found
the decline in the port city prices accelerated slightly from
February, when prices fell 7.82 percent from the previous year.
However, the Mobile decline trailed an 11.5 percent national
decline in March prices. That was down slightly from an 11.7
percent decline in February.
First American CoreLogic says statewide, Alabama home prices
fell 6.2 percent.
Home prices in the Birmingham-Hoover metro area fell 5 percent
in March compared with a year ago. They dropped 4.6 percent in
February.
