Free Fridays On Five!

You'd be surprised what a library card can get you these days!
It's a pass to movies, crafts, music, computers, storytelling, and of course books.

Few things are sweeter than watching a child's face in wonderment. Your local library has the sights and sounds to captivate your child.

"Yes, I love reading books, I love getting on the computer here, says 9 year old Morgan Searcy.

Amber Guy, a spokesperson with the Mobile Public Library says, "Well, it's one of those things a lot of people take for granted. We always think about the library, and those of use who grew up using the library and sometimes you forget how many wonderful things the library has".

Free internet access, storytelling, a wide selection of up to date movies for all ages. Check out movies for a dollar a week, and video games for just two dollars.

"We have all the different formats, play station 3, Wii, PlayStation 2, all of the older formats. We have video games, 2 dollars to check out so it's a great bargain", says Guy.

Taking in a movie for a family of four these days will set you back thirty bucks, easy. But, at the Mobile Public Library, the theatre is fabulous and the price is right. It won't cost you a thing...an even better reason to sit back and enjoy the show.

Parents love the downtime with the children at the library and goodies they check out.

Rhonda Searcy, Morgan's mother, says,
"A dvd, for a dollar a week, you know you can't beat that. So, yeah, and the cd's for free".

This Saturday, the library kicks off it's summer reading program from ten till noon.
It's jam packed with all types of free activities.
When your child signs up, they'll get a card to write down their reading goals for the summer.
Plus, they get a free insulated lunchbox from the Mobile Public Library.
