After three weeks of calling more than 75 witnesses, prosecutors in the Eric Buzbee capital murder trial rested Wednesday morning. Just before lunch, Buzbee's attorney John Beck called four witnesses and rested. The fate of Buzbee, who is accused of robbing and killing Spanish Fort gas station owner Bobby Wilson, now lies in the hands of the jury.

On Wednesday afternoon during closing arguments, Assistant District Attorney Michael Pylant told jurors Buzbee was a desperate drug addict quote "Buzbee was a powder keg waiting to explode...a man who had an unquenchable appetite for crack cocaine."

During closing arguments, defense attorney John Beck told jurors after three weeks prosecutors still didn't have any physical evidence linking his client to the murder saying quote "Eric Buzbee had a couple rough days but it certainly wasn't enough to rob or kill somebody. I don't know who killed Bobby Wilson, that's not my burden. But I do know who didn't do it...my client."

Judge James Reid will charge the jury Thursday morning and will give them instructions on how to deliberate and what possible verdicts they can return against Buzbee.
