2 People Murdered Inside Home

Two people were murdered inside a home in Mobile Wednesday morning. Police say Derrick Penn pulled the trigger. Penn is accused of shooting and killing his estranged wife, Janet Penn, and her boyfriend, Demetrius Powe. It happened around 1:15 A.M. on Eagle Drive. Police say Janet Penn's 19-year-old daughter flagged them down to let them know there had been a shooting inside her home. When police arrived, they say the suspect was coming out the back door. One neighbor we spoke with says shots have been fired before in the neighborhood, but now she says she and her daughter will stay inside more, "it worries me because we have children and you know a bullet doesn't know any names. It could have came out the door as far as he knew or whoever knew," said neighbor Katrice Earl. Derrick Penn was taken to Metro Jail and charged with 2 counts of murder. He will be in court Friday for a bond hearing.
