Family and friends gathered at the Ocean Springs Airport to let 30 balloons into the air. It's fitting because Glyn Johnson was an avid pilot. He was killed on February 27th, 2009 with his girlfriend Tabitha Dolbare and their 13-year-old son Nelson. Family members say Glyn lived life on the edge and would always be in a good mood, even after a less than-successful parasailing attempt.

“Came down out of the skies on his knees came home and laid down in my great room floor and said 'damn that hurt,'” says Glyn’s mother Andrea Johnson. She says her son was both fun loving, and aware of his own mortality.

“He said 'Mom I probably won't make it to 40' well he would have been 40 today,” says Andrea.
The family even bought a small birthday wish in the local paper. Andrea says the deaths of these three have taught her courage and the importance of family.

“Don't ever let them out the door without you telling them that you love them,” says Andrea. Family members will hold another ceremony in Bayou La Batre for Tabitha Dolbare this week. She'll would have been 40 on Wednesday, May 17, 2009. You can see the first story we did on the family here. Family members have also set up a website dedicate to Glyn.
