BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) - It's up to Donald Trump to decide if Miss California USA can keep her crown.
Officials of the state pageant say it's a decision that only Trump can make, as owner of the Miss USA pageant. Trump is planning
a news conference today in New York.
Carrie Prejean created controversy during the Miss USA pageant when she answered a judge's question by saying she believes marriage should only be between a man and a woman.
The state pageant has been investigating whether she violated her contract since then by making public appearances with groups
opposed to same-sex marriage. She also failed to reveal that as a teenager, she had posed in her underwear.
A director of the state pageant says if Trump allows Prejean to retain her crown, state pageant officials will welcome her back and
encourage her to take part in her normal duties.
Keith Lewis says they're also prepared to move on without her if Trump tells her, "You're fired."
