How could a cell phone save a man's life?

»  Comments | Post a Comment

A man was saved by the cell. Mobile Police say Carlos Henderson had a blow out on the interstate Friday morning and ended up in a well hidden ravine. When Henderson called his Dad for help on his cell phone, he didn't even know where he was. But, Police were able to get the longitude and latitude from his cell and translate that into GPS coordinates. Finally, about 6 hours after the crash, a State Trooper helicopter spotted the car and the man was rescued, "had he not had a cell phone with him we probably had a different outcome," said Mobile Police Sgt. Paul Soulier. The victim, Carlos Henderson, was too shaken up to talk on camera about what happened. But, he wanted to thank all those who helped him make it out of there alive.
