MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Flooding at the Alabama Statehouse has
forced the Legislature to move to chambers in the historic old
Capitol to conduct business.
It is the first time in 23 years that the House and Senate will
handle regular legislative work in the Capitol.
The basement of the Statehouse is flooded and forced the
Statehouse staff to turn off the electricity in the building as a
safety precaution.
