Prichard's Most Violent Fugitives Arrested

Nearly a half dozen men suspected in a recent rash of shootings in Prichard are off the street.

Early this morning, Prichard Police and a Violent Crimes Task Force conducted a sweep of the city arresting five of the city's nine most violent fugitives. Mobile police, Fairhope police and FBI agents made up the task force.

Rodney Morrison, 51, Demara Martinez, 24, Syrone Martinez, 33, Vonterry Conner, 17, and Kenneth Reese Jr., 28, were taken into custody.

Morrison is charged with assault for a shooting that happened May 2nd on College Street.

Demara and Syrone Martinez, brothers, are charged with assault in connection to an April 11th shooting on Myers Road.

Vonterry Conner is charged with assault for an April 27th shooting on Shelton Beach Road.

Kenneth Reese Jr. is charged with possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm in a drug trafficking offense.

Joseph Reginald Taylor, a 17 year old murder suspect, was not at home when police attempted to arrest him, but his mother, Jaquelyn Southall, was arrested on an unrelated warrant.

Investigators are still looking for Taylor, along with Cornelius Jones, 31, Daniel Dial, 25, Christopher Shamburger, 33.

All of the subjects are considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information that could help police find them is asked to call 452-7906.
