Gary Miller signed up to speak at Monday's town hall meeting at Pensacola Junior College hosted by Governor Charlie Crist. Miller wanted to ask the governor about the economy and how Florida is handling the recession.

"The state's going to have to start living like everybody else and start cutting positions," says Miller. "The federal government...how are we going to pay them back when we're having trouble raising enough revenue right now?"

Miller and more than 200 other concerned citizens asked Crist about the environment, health care reform and the military. But questions about the recession took center stage. News 5 spoke to the governor about the recession after the town hall meeting. Crist reassured Floridians the economy is getting stronger.

"It's not as good as we want it to be," says Crist. "But we're getting there. We want our unemployment numbers to go down, but we may have turned the corner...we've bottomed out, turned the corner and are starting to come back."
