Concern about swine flu is making some people change their habits, whether it be truckers driving across the country or people attending athletic events.
Gregg Dennis is a truck driver from Missouri.
Friday afternoon, he went to the Arby's Restaurant at Love's Truck stop in Loxley.
He said because of swine flu, he only eats at fast food restaurants or buys food from grocery stores.
Dennis said, "I just came out of Texas and, when I was over there, they had announced that one child had died at a Houston hospital. It's not a time to eat at buffets, that's for sure."
Other truckers had different reactions.
Kevin Phillips of Pineville, Louisiana said he had heard a lot about swine flu, but wasn't really concerned about it.
Wilfredo Bucato of Taft, California said, "I'm concerned because it affects our families and everybody around. When I come to the truck stop, I just take care and wash my hands."
Dan DeFehr of Fresno, California said he's not worried about swine flu because "I'm not in one place long enough."
Kerry Defelippo has her hands full as both a mom and coach of the Little Rascals three year old soccer team in Mobile.
She said she's concerned about swine flu.
Defelippo said, "We're just making sure the kids wash their hands a lot and we're keeping the house clean, making sure when they (the children) get home from day care, we strip their clothes."
One of the parents who watched the soccer game is an emergency room nurse.
Amy Britton said if patients exhibit flu symptoms in the emergency room, they have to put on masks.
Britton says hospital officials also "take special precautions and send off certain tests and, we've seen positive flu for sure."
But she said not positive swine flu.
No swine flu cases have been reported in the Mobile area.
