Firefighters with the Gulf Shores Fire Department aren't taking any chances with flash flooding this week. The men are getting the department's fleet of boats ready in case of flooding.
"We're re-stocking our boats with emergency supplies and equipment like lifejackets," says Brian McMahan with the Gulf Shores Fire Department. "We have a high water rescue team ready and if somebody gets trapped in high water, we're able to take our boat in and get them out quickly."
Volunteers with the Fish River-Marlow Fire Department are also gearing up for severe weather. The Fish River in the Marlow community can rise rapidly and without warning....crews here are ready for possible rescues.
Rescue boats are also on stand-by in Orange Beach and in Daphne.
