Marcus Schrenker is back in the Escambia County Jail.
Schrenker was transferred from a Tallahassee correctional facility to Pensacola Thursday after undergoing mental evaluations in Miami. One evaluation was to determine if he's competent to stand trial, the other to determine if Schrenker was sane when he jumped out of the plane. The results of those evaluations have not been released.
Schrenker was arrested at a campground near Tallahassee on January 13 after a failed suicide attempt. Two days earlier, federal officials say Schrenker put his plane on autopilot and bailed out over Alabama to flee personal and financial problems.
Schrenker faces federal charges in Florida stemming from his plane's crash in Milton. He also faces federal charges in Indiana as well as a half-dozen lawsuits for allegedly bilking investors out of hundreds of thousands of dollars.
