Florida's top attorney says proposed electronic bingo hall on Perdido Key violates state gambling laws

Perdido Key is best known for its sugar white beaches, palm tress and quiet, Gulf views. The locals here say an electronic bingo gaming hall would not fit in with their lifestyle.

"Perdido Key is not the place for that," says Eddie McMillan, a resident of Perdido Key.

"Certainly not the venue for electronic gaming, we're a family oriented island," says Danny Head.

Dallas developer Cy Keefer wants to build a major electronic bingo entertainment complex on the Key, but on Wednesday, state attorney Bill Eddins ruled the development would be illegal, violating state gambling laws.

Good news for Perdido Key property owners who say they want to keep the "Key" bingo-free.
