PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) - A Jackson County grand jury indicts
four teenagers and two adults from Moss Point in the murder of a
Hattiesburg man who stopped at a Moss Point gas station to ask for
directions.
Sixteen-year-old Darwin Wells, 15-year-old Terry Hye Jr. and
14-year-old Telvin James Benjamin all were charged Friday with
capital murder of 44-year-old Michael David Porter.
Seventeen-year-old Alonzo Kelly was indicted on a lesser charge
accusing him of failing to report the shooting to police.
Thirty-nine-year-old Melody Jones and 21-year-old Faith Gibson
were charged as accessories after the fact, the same charge brought
against Kelly.
Police say Porter was shot during an attempted robbery at a
convenience store where he stopped to ask directions to a high
school football game.
