The mother, uncle and other relatives of the four children thrown from the Dauphin Island bridge in 2008 visited the grave site in Bayou La Batre. The family held a small memorial service Sunday morning for the children. This is their first trip to the grave site of the children since Lam Luong’s guilty verdict. They left gifts of candy, food, drinks and toys at their tombstones. Family members also burned paper money and paper clothes. Kam Phengsisomboun says this is an Asian tradition. It lets them send possessions to the deceased in the afterlife. We’ll have the full story later today.
