BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. (AP) - The parents of four children found
locked in the back of a U-Haul truck have been charged with child
endangerment.
Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman Cpl. Johnny Poulos says
Hancock County deputies on Monday found the children, girls ages 7,
10, 11 and 15, in the back of a rental truck. Authorities say the
family was traveling to Louisiana.
Poulos says John and Kimberly Leinweber of Atlantic Beach, Fla.,
were charged with four counts each of child endangerment.
Poulos says the couple is being held without bond in the Hancock
County jail pending an initial court appearance. He says the
children were released into the custody of a grandparent from
Louisiana.
