Black pets aren't unlucky; they're just a little less loved. Mobile's Animal Rescue Foundation, or ARF, held a special adoption drive for black cats and dogs at the Pet Smart on Airport. Organizers say sometimes black pets don't stand out and shelters and are sometimes overlooked by families. They called the event black tie with tails.
“If they're not adopted then they just stay with us forever they're great and they're taken care of but they need homes too,” says Lindsey Carter with the Animal Rescue Foundation. Carter says they were able to find homes for one black cat and four black dogs today.
