UNDATED (AP) - Sirius XM Radio is looking to the iPhone and iPod to revive its business. The nation's only satellite radio provider figures providing its programming to the popular Apple devices might help pave the way for more sales to be made directly to consumers.
Before now, new car sales had been the best source of customers for Sirius. But with the recession, automobile sales are way down. The radio service would be streamed to iPhones and iPod Touches starting this spring. The material would be available to current Sirius subscribers and it will also provide a way for new customers to sign up without laying out money for new radios.
