Get Rid Of Household Hazardous Waste For Free

Santa Rosa County is looking for items like antifreeze, batteries, computers, gas and grease that should never be thrown out with your household garbage.

Santa Rosa County is offering residents a chance to get rid of items that should never be thrown in the garbage.

From 8am-1pm on March 28 you can drop off the following household hazardous waste at no charge:

antifreeze
batteries
computers
five-gallon propane bottles
fluorescent lights
fire extinguishers
gasoline
greases
household cleaners
lubricants
motor oil
oil filters
paint
pesticides
pool cleaners
solvents

Two drop off sites will be available:
Santa Rosa County South Side Service Center
5819 Gulf Breeze Parkway
Midway

Santa Rosa County Administrative Complex
6495 Caroline Street
Milton

Materials will also be accepted from small businesses, schools and growers at a reduced rate. But you must call 850.981.7135 by noon on March 27 to schedule a drop off time.

Containers larger than five gallons will not be accepted. Neither will tires, printers, fax machines, DVD/DVR players, typewriters, copy machines, general debris or household garbage.

Cathode ray televisions and monitors will be accepted at the Midway dropoff or at the Central Landfill located at 6337 Da Lisa Road in Milton.
