BREAKING NEWS

WASHINGTON (AP) - Officials in Washington, D.C. say that a
murder warrant has been issued for an imprisoned Salvadoran
immigrant in the 2001 slaying of federal intern Chandra Levy.
U.S. Attorney Jeffrey Taylor and city officials said Tuesday
that Ingmar Guandique killed Levy on May 1, 2001 as
she was walking her dog through a Washington park.
Guandique is in federal prison in Adelanto, Calif., for
attacking two women in the same Washington park where Levy's
remains were found in 2002. If convicted in Levy's death, he could
face up to 60 years in prison.
The case had gone cold for years after destroying the career of
former Rep. Gary Condit of California.
