TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Gov. Charlie Crist's State of the State
address assures lawmakers that Florida's future will be brighter if
they work together toward goals of job growth, clean energy and
strong schools.
Crist acknowledges the state's bleak economy in Tuesday's
speech, but repeatedly expresses optimism about the future.
He gives thanks for the federal stimulus money coming to
Florida, saying it will be a bridge to better economic times.
And he tells lawmakers that they need to dig deep - very deep -
for hope, optimism and determination. He asked them to think of
people, not politics, as they head into the difficult session.
