McMahon Hospitalized

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Ed McMahon is very sick. A friend says he has bone cancer, along with other health problems, including pneumonia.
He's been in intensive care in a hospital in Los Angeles for several weeks. McMahon is 85.

His spokesman Howard Bragman says, "It's serious," but adds, "We're hopeful." Bragman says McMahon's wife and family are with him and appreciate all the
expressions of concern. McMahon was in the news last year when he was in danger of losing his home to foreclosure. If that weren't enough, he was recovering from a broken neck which left him unable to work.

A deal was worked out for McMachon and his wife to stay in their house. Of course, Ed McMahon is best known as Johnny Carson's
sidekick during their 30 years on "The Tonight Show." McMahon also hosted "Star Search" and has been a fixture on Jerry Lewis'
MDA telethons.
