This building sitting behind the Church On The Eastern Shore in Fairhope doesn't look like much now, but in a few weeks, it will be a bustling medical and dental facility.

"That's our mission," says church leader Jennifer Miles. "To take care of people that are broken and have needs not only physically and emotionally but also take care of their spiritual needs and we'll be sharing the hope of Christ as well."

The facility will be called the Hope Center and it will provide low cost health care for uninsured or low income families. Church leaders say the Hope Center will be an important outreach ministry.

"Especially now with the way the economy is, there's a lot of folks without jobs and without insurance and this is just our first step to give back to the community to care care of their medical needs," says Miles.

Based on income, a doctor's visit could cost as little as ten bucks. The Hope Center will also provide counseling services. The facility will open in mid-August.
