A Baldwin County business badly burned by fire is getting a helping hand from its neighbors. Dozens came out to the American Legion in Fairhope Sunday, June 28, 2009, for "Save the Baybreak.” The evening concert raised money for the Baybreak convenience store. The popular Fairhope business was badly burned late last year. Organizers say they want to help a friend and get an old hang-out back.
“It’s a great gathering place, you can go there for coffee early in the morning and visit with locals, and it's just been here forever and we all love being a part of it,” says concert co-organizer Elizabeth Stone. Stone also says the Baybreak wasn't insured. She says they're trying to raise as much money as they can to help the store's owner.
