Changes could be on the way for Mobile County High School students.
School leaders unveiled a new rezoning plan during a public hearing at Vigor High School tonight.
Superintendent Dr. Roy Nichols says right now it is just a proposal.
He hopes to rezone high schools including Blount, B.C. Rain, Murphy, Leflore, Vigor, Williamson and Davidson.
Several of the schools are either over populated or do not have enough students.
Nichols says by decreasing the population it could also cut down on school violence.
"It will save us transportation money,it will make it easier to staff the schools and also to maintain order and discipline in schools. If they're too large it gets very difficult to manage,"Said Nichols.
Superintendent Nichols plans to present the proposal to the board in the coming months. If approved the changes would not go into effect until Fall of 2010.
