Pastor's House And Car Burned

The pastor of an Eight Mile church has spent her life helping others. Now, the shoe is on the other foot for Dr. Ruby Eldridge.

Dr. Eldridge pastors the Pure Word Deliverance Church on Shelton Beach Road. She was at the church on Thursday when her house and car caught on fire.

She's known in the community as "Miss Ruby" and now she needs help. Prichard officials estimate that the fires did an estimated 105,000 dollars worth of damage.

The Eldridge's have no homeowners insurance.

Miss Ruby's grandson Cederick McMillan says the family believes the fires were intentionally set. "She always welcomed people with love and its so difficult for me to really grasp all of this for someone that gives of themselves so much to be treated this way."

The family thinks they know who set the fire but Prichard officials have not given an official cause yet.
