The Azalea City Quilters Guild wrapped up its bi-annual festival of quilts. The event featured 300 quilts. Most of them were made by local quilters. Organizers say they wanted to showcase their talents. For these quilters, it's their favorite hobby.
“Just like some people enjoy golfing or tennis or swimming we happen to enjoy sewing and making artwork with our fabric,” says quilter Joyce Reed. Reed says the money raised from this festival will pay for the next one in two years. The event is going on until 5pm Sunday, June 7th, 2009 at Burns Middle School.
