Funeral For Slain Officer

“Brandon was very outgoing, very caring worked well with kids and was an example a very healthy example for young people,” says Alvin Sylvester. He worked with Brandon at Strickland Youth Center. Sylvester’s one of hundreds of people who packed the pews at St. Mary's Catholic church. As people flow into the service, they Remember Brandon fondly.

“He was just a respectable person a respectable kid he knows how to respect people and he was just a good kid,” says Sigler’s Great Aunt Bertha Watts. Many who attended the service on Saturday, June 6th, 2009 say it was so crowded because the officer touched so many lives.

“Makes me feel marvelous to know that he had so many peoples that loved him he was very well known, played in the neighborhood, was a good kid,” says Watts. At the burial, family members say they were very thankful for all the support they've gotten from the community.

“It can't get any bigger than that he had a hero's and we're grateful to you,” says Brandon’s Aunt Cathy Durant. Family members say Brandon will always have a special place in their hearts

“There are tears but we are very happy today because that's the way Brandon would want us to be, that’s the way he was,” says Durant.
