News 5 has learned accused cop killer Richard Hollingsworth is an aspiring singer/songwriter. The 18-year-old is also charged with the murder of Mobile police officer Brandon Sigler.
Hollingsworth says on his website that he started playing guitar 7 years ago.
"I never once thought I would be who I am today," says Hollingsworth. "I love my music, just like I hope you will. I have a message that I need everyone to hear, but you have to find it yourself, and its different for everyone. So please, do enjoy."
Hollingsworth posted three of his songs. The most recent, posted February 13, is titled 'This Is How I Really Feel'
Hollingsworth says he wrote it for a girl he "fell madly in love with years ago." He references the Port City in the lyrics "This is how I really feel, why I came back to Mobile, to chase the dreams I never had."
The second song, called 'Boil Me Over', was posted in October 2007 before he moved back to Mobile. He was living in Birmingham at the time.
In the third song, 'The Puzzle Called Why,' Hollingsworth plays the acoustic guitar and harmonica.
Police say Hollingsworth shot Officer Sigler Tuesday night at the Tyler Ridge Apartments in West Mobile where Sigler was a courtesy officer. Hollingsworth will be in court Friday morning for a bond hearing.
