MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions is one of 10
senators that Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor is visiting on
Capitol Hill.
The White House announced that Sotomayor is holding private,
informal meetings with 10 senators from both political parties
Tuesday. Each meeting will last about 30 minutes.
Sessions is the ranking Republican on the Senate Judiciary
Committee, which will review the judge's nomination. Sotomayor is
also visiting the committee's Democratic chairman, Patrick Leahy of
Vermont, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada, and Minority
Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky.
