Here's something you don't see every day.
A deer hurdles a moving police car in Indianola, Iowa.
"For some reason, instead of going straight across --maybe it doesn't like cops -- but it decided to go for the patrol car," said officer Dan Deffenbaugh.
The hood of the Crown Victoria is 32-inches off the ground and 70-inches wide.
"That's a big leap. I know deer could jump high, but I didn't know that they were able to jump over police vehicles!"
Deffenbaugh says he looked like a deer in the headlights after the close encounter.
"I don't know who was scared more: the deer or me! I think, as you watch the video, I wish that you could see my face expression. I think we probably had the same expression."
The deer never missed a beat and kept on running after it hit the ground.
