Sunday, July 26, 2009 was a painting day in downtown Mobile. A local artist was demonstrating how she makes watercolor paintings this afternoon. It's part of the Cathedral Square Gallery's weekly live artist demos. The gallery lets local creative people use the gallery to demonstrate their craft in a live setting. Artists say it's a good chance for people curious about art to see how it's done.
“A lot of times they don't realize that much of this work is done by hand and it's kind of fascinating, people love to watch,” says professional artist Loran Chavez. The Cathedral Square Gallery has a live artist every Sunday. They're open from 11 to 3 Sundays.
