Aubrey Nix is a full time working mother who's all about getting something for nothing. "If you can get an item for free, get it!", says Nix.
She runs easternshoremom.com out of her Fairhope home, posting all types of freebies on her website..from chocolate to hearing aid batteries.
Nix spends three to four hours a night on her keyboard researching internet blogs, forums and company websites, then she passes on the deals.
"Oh, you can go on walmart.com and get free samples of everything. Every month they offer free samples, different free samples like the other day I got a roll of scott toilet paper in the mail", says Nix.
Her coffee table is covered with magazines from free subscriptions. Shape, Businessweek, Popular Science and Golf Digest are just a few. You can find a link to sign up for the free subscriptions on easternshoremom.com, plus a coupon spread sheet and Nix's grocery list.
"It takes me two hours to do my list, but it takes you a click of a mouse. You can just hit print and you have my list and every coupon I used", says Nix.
With coupons and freebies, Nix says she cuts her grocery bill in half.
She enjoys the hunt for a bargain, calling it a game of cat and mouse with consumer and product.
"They want you to be a valued customer. They want you to continue to come back, so they're offering coupons and freebies on their site to draw you in. To get you to buy their product, because they don't want to go out of business", says Nix.
She also reminds consumers not to undervalue coupons, "Think of them as money" says Nix.
By stacking coupons, that is combining manufacturers coupons with store coupons, a lot of times you get things for free!!!
