If you're staying in Pensacola Beach rather than fighting the traffic you're not alone. Many of the hotels in the area are either at or near capacity this Saturday, July 11, 2009. Representatives of places like Hampton Inn or Comfort Inn say this is normal for them. They say it's usually packed for the Blue Angels. Many of the folks that stay here say it just makes life simpler to get a room.
“It's a lot easier to get a room, enjoy ourselves, stay out here for three days instead of getting up at 5 or 6 in the morning trying to beat the crowd,” says hotel guest Arlene Curb.
Earlier this week, local officials believed they might see the largest crowd ever for the Blue Angels.
