"I know of no one who didn't love him."
Friends and family of Bob Aitcheson are still trying to come to grips with the fact some one murdered him. "He lived not a wealthy life he fixed automobiles. He lived like a lot of great Americans do from hand to mouth that's who he was," says family attorney and friend Walter Chandler.
Early Wednesday morning fire swept through his mobile home near Silverhill. Once the flames were out, Aitcheson's body was found in the living room.
Investigators still have a lot of questions but they do know two things: this fire was no accident and Aitcheson was dead before the flames ever started.
"We do have some leads we're working and some information we feel pretty good about. We'll move forward with that and see where it takes us," says Major Anthony Lowery with the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. The autopsy not only told investigators about the murder says Lowery, "The autopsy actually revealed some things that we'll look for in particular at the scene."
For folks who knew Aitcheson, there are hard days ahead. "I've been a lawyer for 35 years and I'm used to this kind of thing," Chandler says through teary eyes, "but Bob was just different, everybody loved him."
