PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) - An Indiana money manger charged with
crashing an airplane in a botched attempt to fake his own death is
headed to a Miami prison for psychiatric testing.
U.S. Marshals say Marcus Schrenker left Pensacola en route to
the Federal Detention Center in Miami on Wednesday morning.
Schrenker was arrested in Florida earlier this month after
parachuting from his plane over Alabama and leaving it on autopilot
to drift toward the Gulf of Mexico. The plane landed north of
Pensacola about 200 yards from several homes.
Investigators say Schrenker was trying to escape financial ruin.
